You never know where your ties can get you, but if you are a Pershing Yachts fan then you will probably love last year’s new edition with the 9X Pershing Yacht. With more than a decade’s successful tie with Italian furniture designer Paltrona Frau, it is more than just a business deal, it is a pure friendship.
The partnership was possible because of the friendship between the iconic Italian furniture designer, Poltrona Frau, and Pershing Yacht’s founder, Tilli Antonelli. Poltrona Frau was the former CEO of Giuliano Mosconi, the company that is close to Pershing’s on the Adriatic Coast, Italy.
Antonelli wished to have a Pershing Yachts that would be a monster on the sea with the elegance of a swan, with its interior. Thus Pershing, following its legacy of crafting beautifully powerful boats, Antonelli wanted to redefine the luxury they provided. He listed Luca Bellomari, one of the designers under Poltrona Frau, to not only provide them with leather but also design the complete helm of the 72-foot yacht.
The final output left Pershing with a Yacht that was beyond luxury. With beautifully hand-stitched leather seats and a console for the helm, it was recalled as a fighter jet. Pershing 72 really stood out when it was launched in 2007.
Since then, these companies have collaborated to design many Pershing yachts, including the Pershing 80, Pershing 64, Pershing 108, and Pershing 115, among all the other recent launches. Antonelli left the Pershing Yacht company in 2009, to form his new boat company called the ‘Wider’, but he still uses the leather from Poltrona. After Pershing, there are many other Italian yacht builders who rely on Potrona to provide them with premium quality leather.

Debuted at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2017, the Pershing Yachts’ 9X series has a hull size of 28.14 meters.

The helm of the Persing 9X has an exquisite helm console and hand-stitched leather seats, along with touchscreen navigation. It was so much in rage that the Pershing Yachts sold four of 9X before even launching it.
