Considered to be the most glamorous superyacht and boating event, the Monaco Yacht Show sported some of the world’s most expensive, professionally crewed private sailing vessels. With over 3 billion euros of yachts on display, the event organizers had announced that they were expecting over 580 exhibitors along with 30,000 participants. These superyachts had about 12 luxurious cars and 2 helicopters on their deck.

The event was organized from September 26 to 29, 2018. It successfully featured about 121 superyachts of which 14 were sailing yachts and 42 were new-build. This can be seen way ahead from Monaco Yacht Show’s humble beginnings.

Monaco Yacht Show showcased their first event in 1991. With only 32 yachts on display, the exhibit did not take more than 1000 meters of space. This changed in 1999 as the area of display doubled with more yachts on display. In 2013, the Monaco Yacht Show officially partnered with the Principality of Monaco and has never looked back since.

Every year, this show is exhibited on the Port Hercules of Monaco, well-known to have hosted boats in the ancient Roman and Greek times. Today, the show covers about 40 acres, that is the whole port, and has a hefty cost for a daily pass which is around 280 euros.
