Giovanni Jannetti, a passionate yacht builder, founded the Cantiere Navali San Lorenzo shipyard in Viareggio in 1958. Decades later in 1995, the shipyard launched its first yacht – the 31.70 meter SL100. In 2008, the shipyard launched the SD122, which went on to win the World Superyacht Award.
