The moment I saw a video on The Yacht Week, it immediately went to the top of my bucket list. Now how does it work? Well, you need to start by choosing a destination. Let’s say Croatia, the route is considered as a pure gathering of summer-loving people or you can even think of the Caribbean, if palm trees and balmy days are something that you are looking for. After choosing a destination, you need to select dates, it is a seven-day event happening throughout the year. Next is to go through all the luxurious Riva yachts or mega yachts available in town and choose one according to your requirements. Everything seems to be done, isn’t it? No! Not yet. It’s time to pack.

Well, I am pretty sure that you must have packed several times before going on a trip, but this is the Yacht Week you are talking about. It’s totally different from the other ones. And since I had been on several sailing trips for a day before, I certainly have a bit of know-how about what to pack and what not to for the yacht week. First of all, you need to know that going to the yacht week is not going to be like any other trip you have planned.

What to Wear on a Riva Yacht?

Like it or not, here you won’t be able to spend hours and hours dressing up. I mean most of the time you will be dressed up in your swimwear or beachwear that looks absolutely glorious. Apart from this, you have seven nights on the yacht during which most of the time you will be partying either on land or on the yacht itself. So basically, what you need to pack is:-

  • Five to seven casual outfits such as jeans, shirts/skirts, T-shirts, casual dresses, and one fancy dress, etc.
  • One pair of flip-flop or boat shoes and one pair of dressy sandals. Make sure you wear no heels.
  • Four to five bikinis or swimwear, costumes
  • Sunglasses
  • Basic cosmetics
  • Moisturizer
  • Sunblock
  • Camera, battery chargers,
  • Snorkeling gear
  • All the usual stuff for toiletries
  • Books, magazines, kindle
  • Dry bag or waterproof cases

For medical emergencies

  • A first-aid kit
  • Navigation instruments
  • Lifejackets
  • Ibuprofen
  • Anti-nausea medication
  • Anti-diarrhea medications

Food & drink

  • Fruits like watermelon, bananas, apple
  • Pasta
  • Rice
  • Eggs

Documents

  • A valid passport/ visa
  • Travel Insurance
  • Local currency
  • Sailing licences

What Not to Pack on Riva Yachts?

Heavy clothing especially materials like denim or wool
Jewelry- you can think of bringing one or two statement pieces if you like but not more than that.
Hard Suitcase

Other than celebrating the yacht week you can even think of buying a super-luxurious Ferretti, Bertram, or Riva yachts for your upcoming adventure vacations. Always remember that it is all about enjoying yourself to the fullest and embracing it all.
