In 1968, when a pair of Italian brothers created the first nautical division of the family business to sell other manufacturers’ boats, they had no idea they were sowing the seeds of a custom yacht building empire. Driven by their commitment to innovation and a fierce love for the sea, the Ferretti brothers grew their small division from a modest shipyard into its current incarnation as one of the world’s most prestigious yacht brands.
Ferretti Yachts is now an integral part of the international Ferretti Group holding, building some of the most luxurious, technologically advanced motor yachts on the water today. Ferretti Yachts’ history begins when Norberto Ferretti, driven by his passion for the sea, first persuaded his brother Alessandro to join him in a nautical venture in 1968. The brothers began by selling other company’s’ boats, but within three years they had created their first vessel, a 10-meter wooden motor-sailer that was introduced to great acclaim. Dissatisfied with the inherent limitations of sailing vessels, the Ferretti brothers shifted their focus to building motor yachts.
The first Ferretti motor-yacht debuted in 1982, cementing the company’s transition into a full-time producer of sport fishing yachts.
Pursuing excellence as the world’s best flying bridge motor yacht builder, Ferretti Yachts got its start with brothers Alessandro and Norberto Ferretti in 1968, launching their first wooden motor sailing vessel at the Genoa Boat Show in 1971. In 1982, Ferretti unveiled its first motor yacht and began their foray into the open and flybridge sportfish models, now manufactured in fiberglass and ranging from 47 feet to 88 feet. Innovations still present today in the industry include a stern helm position, swinging windows in the salon opening onto the cockpit, and an internal passage from salon to flying bridge. Ferretti Yachts is part of Ferretti Group’s global portfolio of luxury yacht brands, including Pershing, Itama, Bertram, Riva, Apreamare, Mochi Craft, CRN, and Ferretti Custom Line.
Ferretti Yachts are skillfully and technically built in yards in Italy and US, backed by the most advanced design and naval research center in the world, AYT-Advanced Yacht Technology, in conjunction with talented architects and designers. The subtle Italian design touch comes from Studio Zuccon, an international design firm.
With the creation of the Ferretti Yachts division in 2002, came the introduction of the ARG (Anti-Rolling Gyro) stabilization system and the expansive open-view window in the master stateroom in almost all models. Ferretti’s development of the ZF Steer Command system which replaces traditional hydraulic steerage for simpler maneuvering of the vessel and use of the most advanced common-rail engines guarantee top performance, safely and quietly.
Ferretti Yachts’ models range from the Ferretti 500 to the Ferretti 881 and Ferretti 881 RPH. Contact us For more details on Ferretti Yachts For Sale. We will be happy to help you!
